The Ferret® 40 mm Barricade Penetrating Round is loaded with CS powder chemical agent. It is a frangible projectile that is spin-stabilized via barrel rifling. It is non-burning and intended to penetrate obstacles. Its primary purpose is to evacuate barricaded subjects, although it can also be employed for area denial. It is mostly employed by tactical teams and is intended to break through barriers such as windows, hollow core doors, wallboards, and thin plywood. Upon contact, the nose ruptures, delivering the agent payload within a structure or vehicle.
